God Dammit, Nintendo.
Congrats, you b-holes. You figured out how to mess up something as simple and basic as demo distribution. You had us all pumped like a pair of Reeboks when you dumped a bunch of previously-removed demos onto the Wii. We were beginning to regain faith. But now this.
When a 3DS demo for Resident Evil Revelations was announced for the eShop, we cheered. We lauded. We became slightly aroused. But now this.
I went to download the RE demo and was alerted that I could only access it 30 times. 30 TIMES! Why? What’s the reasoning? Why are you assholes? Why are you so rude? Sometimes I feel like I’m stuck in an abusive relationship with you. Whenever people ask why I’m still a Nintendo fan, I try my best to defend your actions, but lately, your actions have become harder and harder to defend.
Why can’t you just not be bunch of weirdos for once? When we wanted online play, you gave us friend codes. When we were excited for the Virtual Console, you gave us absolute shit week after week. When we wanted demos, we got these shenanigans.
Do you get off on making things unnecessarily difficult for your users? Do you get a thrill off watching us squirm and then complain about it on the internet?
Seriously, I love you - I really do - but you need to knock this shit off once and for all. It would probably be way easier for you to just dump a demo onto the eShop without implementing a limit to the number of times the demo can be played. And besides, the demo’s only about 10 minutes long (10 GLORIOUS minutes) and I highly doubt anyone’s gonna be like “Psh, I’m not buying this game. I’m good with just running through this demo, like, a bajillion times.”
Granted, as long as you don’t exit the demo, you can play it as many times as you want without that glaring number winding down, it only registers each time it’s accessed from the 3DS Home menu. But still, it’s still a dick move, Nintendo.
I’m just hoping this was Capcom’s call (although I highly doubt it) and future demo releases won’t be so needlessly restricted.
Geeze.
Enough ranting. I’m gonna’ go run through the Revelations demo on the HELL difficulty, thus bringing my available play count down to 28. So lame.
